Lion Containers, in collaboration with Cadwyn Housing Association, the Welsh Government and Cardiff City Council, installed 13 shipping container houses in the city centre for residents in need of temporary housing.

This high-standard, affordable development consists of 13 40ft shipping containers, all of which were to be used as flats, as well as 7 20ft containers for storage and other structural needs.

The container housing project can home up to 33 residents, with 6 x 1-2 person flats, and 7 x 2-3 person flats.

This landmark project signals the change in local government solutions to the housing needs of their communities’ most vulnerable. This Lion Containers fabrication has inspired further UK-wide projects on which we will be collaborating.
